The Prison Library reside in Newcastle, England. Their musical vision questions the wisdom of age against the youthful naivety of thinking life is fair, evoking the clarity only gained after you realise you’ve lost something that can never be replaced or have discovered something new that you hope will last forever…

Urgent rhythm, dark melody, raw enigmatic vocals mixed with a hint of “I told you so.” The Prison Library reveal their final score in a direct way, not hiding behind trend or ego… On stage, their presence and intensity is palatable. Few other artists manage to maintain integrity and social relevance whilst also commanding the gaze of every soul in the room…

2011’s double A-side single ‘OUT OF SIGHT/YOUR SUN WILL EXPLODE’ received much praise and plays on 6Music, Amazing Radio and BBC Newcastle and was chosen as ‘Single of the Week’ by Crack in the Road.

Following shows with Metronomy, Clock Opera, Tribes, Spring Offensive, The Chapman Family and Fixers, The Prison Library release ‘LIARS’ alongside an epic video directed by Scott Coulter.

The band are currently recording an upcoming serialised release. The 4-track EP is produced by long-term collaborator Mick Ross(Frankie & the Heartstrings, Soundtracks for a B Movie, Let’s Buy Happiness).
